Here she is, in all her glory. Mainly a test video to see how my camera goes and if this youtubing thing works. 2005 model Grey Import SR400. A few bibs and bobs changed, but nothing anywhere near some of the others that are around. It’s going to change a fair bit over the next few months, some cosmetic, some mechanical changes. It’s a kickarse bike. It’s slow. It’s braking is sub-par. It never gets washed. Sometimes the carb shoots off when I kick it over. But it’s got me 900k’s away from …

G’day mate, beaut bike. How much it’d cost, including import etc?

    Cheers

I don’t want to sit down and nut out how much each item was… I might lose sleep. The bike itself cost around 8k, from memory, although I could be wrong. I wanted an SR, but lacked the inclination, time or money to get an old one to work on. That being said, the engine on this one went bang very recently.

Went bang? That doesn’t sound good.

I thought the engines in these things were almost indestructible. What happened?

  7. Well… they are.

Pinched a valve guide and that’s been hammering away at the head and the top of the piston. Could be due to a number of things. Still mulling over what in particular.

It’s still indestructible. Methinks it’s been running like that for quite a while. It’s getting a FCR39mm Flatslide, new cam, hi comp piston, crank etc.
