i have a martek electronic ignition and have no idea about it. when i turn my bike key to off position it backfires. i had the plugs out to check spark because it was weak spark. so i bought new coils(still shipping come in monday 21st). when i was done checking the spark i was still holding cap and my brother turned key off and it shocked me thru the cap whats up with that?. does it have a short? does that have anything to do with the backfiring? the bike kept flooding when i bought it and wasn’t firing from one cyclinder so thats why i check the spark and it was weak so thats why i bought new stock coils. hoping to fix that and still not sure of the key thingy. i did find a website that explains the martek but yet to study and master it here it is if anyone wants to read up on it….. http://www.650motorcycles.com/Martek.html
the flooding of the engine is because it’s not getting enough spark and i already rebuilt and cleaned the carbs. and it doesn’t sound normal. something is still wrong. it sounds like uncle buck. have you ever seen that movie.”BANG”.. shouldn’t be doin that

This is normal. When you turn off the ignition you collapse the field in the coil and it creates a spark as if the ignition module is triggered. The back fire is caused b fuel in the cylinder when you shut off the ignition.Repair the flooding by cleaning the carbs and the backfiring will go away.
Edit: check your timing you may be too far advanced
